George Quercia

As Vice President of Materials Engineering at X-HAB 3D, George plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s innovation in materials science, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency. He is responsible for defining and executing the materials engineering strategy in alignment with corporate goals, leading cutting-edge research into new materials, advanced composites, and sustainable alternatives to enhance the performance of 3D concrete printing (3DCP) technologies.

George brings over 26 years of international experience in materials engineering, having held technical roles across Venezuela, the Netherlands, Canada, and the United States. Over the past decade, George has focused on the development and industrialization of architectural ultra-high-performance concrete (A|UHPC®) and 3DCP materials, with a strong emphasis on scaling innovations from laboratory research to full manufacturing deployment.

He holds a Ph.D. in Cement and Concrete Technology from Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands), a Master of Engineering (with honors), and a Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Engineering from Simón Bolívar University (Venezuela). 
He is also the author and co-author of several international patents, peer-reviewed journal articles, and technical reports.
